Nico Di Cillo

Lead Vocals / Guitar / Bass / Technical and Artistic Director

 

Born in Bari, Italy, Nico Di Cillo is a singer and multi instrumentalist from Reading, Berkshire. He started playing music from a very young age and has shared the stage with various well known musicians including Lou Reed and members of Jamiroquai. He fell in love with Pink Floyd when he attended the Live in Venice concert in 1989 … it has been his favourite band ever since. Nico formed Crazy Diamond in 2015 after various incarnations and line up changes. He’s the technical and artistic director of the band, lead singer and shares the rhythm guitar and bass duties. Andy Hogbin

Keyboards / Vocals

Andy started playing piano at an early age. He discovered prog rock in his early teens thanks in part to a progressive piano teacher who decided that the works of Rick Wakeman were suitable for study. He has played in a number of rock bands, including Floyd tribute acts, and played festivals as one half of an electronic music duo. He uses Yamaha and Roland keyboards

Noami Di Cillo

Vocals

A passionate singer from the age of six Naomi grew up with an evident and deep desire to perform.

In 2001 she gained Foundation Training in Acting and Musical Theatre at Reading Theatre College (now Read Dance and Theatre School) and furthered her study in all Musical Theatre Disciplines. On completion of her course she received L.A.M.D.A. Grade 8 with Distinction.

In 2007 she continued her studies in Performing Arts and was offered a place on a Higher National Diploma course. Following this she took to the stage in April 2008 taking a lead role in Courttia Newland‘s B Is for Black which showcased at South Street Art’s Centre Reading.

Over the years however, Naomi has learnt to appreciate a wider musical repertoire. In 2010 she fell in love with the theatricality of Pink Floyd and in 2012 she started coaching others in a variety of musical genres.

Today a Singer/Voice and Performance Coach both privately and at ‘The Rock Project’ she uses her vivacious character to encourage confidence and deliver fun informative sessions, whilst embedding practice of good vocal health and performance discipline.

Rebecca Cooch

Vocals

Rebecca is a classically trained soprano and began singing at a young age. She received numerous awards for singing and holds a Licentiate of Trinity College London Level 6 Diploma in Music Performance with Distinction. Rebecca is an established and busy singing teacher of many genres, with students successfully attaining graded examinations and places at Music College. She taught vocals at The Rock Project for several years but now teaches purely privately.

A fan of many forms of music and theatre, Rebecca has held stage roles such as ‘Hodel’ in ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ and ‘Lucy’ in Menotti’s operetta ‘The Telephone’. For 10 years she made a foray into the world of metal as lead singer of Reading original melodic metal band Incarnadine Coven. A great lover of choral music, she was also a member of the acclaimed Reading Phoenix Choir for 8 years.

Nowadays, as well as providing powerful vocals for Crazy Diamond, Rebecca is one half of acoustic duo Perfect Sky.

Simon Fearn

Bass / Lead Guitar

​

Simon has been playing since a young age and has been through many bands over the years. Based originally in the East Midlands he then moved south where he met and collaborated in various projects with Nico.  He has been part of Crazy Diamond since the formation.  He shares bass guitar and lead/rhythm guitar duties in the band and uses Fender bass guitars and Godin multivoice electric/acoustic guitars.

Andy Cooper

Lead Guitar

Andy learned guitar at age 14 and has been in many bands over the years including a number of cover bands and original bands.  His original band had the honour of supporting the Stranglers in 2010. In 1999 he was in a professional Robbie Williams tribute band. He has been in a number of Floyd tribute acts including a 3 piece acoustic band inspired by David Gilmore's Meltdown Showcase at the Royal Festival Hall.  The Black Telecaster guitar that Andy uses in some of the Crazy Diamond shows was actually built by himself after completing a guitar building course!

Shaun Finch

Drums

​

Shaun has been playing drums since the age of 12 years old when he developed a love for  The Electric Light Orchestra.  He has been in a wide variety of bands including a folk/rock band and David Bowie tribute act. At age 16 he discovered Pink Floyd and has been a passionate fan since.  Now at age 43 and after securing a place in the Crazy Diamond family he says he has finally reached his goal of playing music so close to his heart, to an audience that loves it as much as he does. 

He uses a Tama Star kit and a myriad of Zildjian cymbals.
